Baumberhof Wedding Shoot
Baumberhof Wedding Shoot. This styled shoot at The Baumberhof in Edmond, Okla., brings you the best of both old and new world styles. Inspired by a 400-year old German stone barn, the architecture has an imposing presence all on its own. And while the ambiance is ideal for those with a penchant for rustic elegance, this shoot takes pastoral style and splashes it with eye-popping colors and modern trends.
The bride stuns in a flowing V-neck gown complete with lace, beaded details and a statement bow in the back. She wears her hair softly curled and braided, and incorporates earrings and a pearl bracelet as accessories to complete her bridal style.
She sits in a hammock and looks out the window as the handsome groom appears behind her. He dons a dapper three-piece gray suit with a quirky and colorful tie.
One cohesive element throughout this shoot is the bright floral design. A rainbow of assorted colors fills each arrangement, including berries and eucalyptus for added texture. But it’s the bride’s unique floral accessory that steals the show. Instead of a traditional bouquet, she carries a small ring of hypericum berries attached to a hanging basket overflowing with bright blooms.
The ceremony space is centered around the venue’s gorgeous barn doors. An arbor is decorated with greenery and colorful floral arrangements are hung on the doors to create a colorful, natural backdrop.
To make the spot dual-purpose, after the ceremony the couple places a beautiful sofa in front of the arbor. The ornate piece of furniture, accented with throw pillows, makes the spot a gorgeous lounge area for the reception.
The reception tables also receive the colorful treatment. One natural table is decorated with a light blue table runner and colorful floral centerpieces in tall navy blue vases.
Another gorgeous tablescape includes a light pink runner anchored by geometric copper globes and small silver containers.
No matter the table design, the place settings are all the same, featuring gold chargers, white china, a navy blue napkin and vintage glassware.
A simple white wedding cake couldn’t adequately capture this shoot’s vibrant theme; therefore, a collection of cakes makes a vivid presentation.
A three-tier white fondant cake is painted with strokes of blue and embellished with florals.
And a two-tier cake, which rests on a modern gold stand, is covered with pink and orange strokes as it, too, features colorful floral touches.
Inside, the bride’s white gown and bold flowers makes quite an impact, balancing the tough and rugged architecture with softness.
In one final scene, the couple embraces outside in the vine-covered courtyard, sharing in the rustic elements that make up this enchanting location.
This styled shoot at The Baumberhof showcases the possibilities with rustic venues thanks to ingenious ideas and the courage to imagine. There’s no question rustic-inspired weddings are highly popular; however, the idea of applying a more creative vision is exciting and novel – a surefire way to have a day like no other.
