Not all engagement sessions have to necessarily be for the newly engaged. For married couple Courtney and Jeffrey, the gift of a photo session serves as a physical testament to their deeply-rooted love and devotion as they commemorate their one-year anniversary. Their session took place in an undisclosed location in the middle of an enchanted forest at Big Bear Lake, California. The trees were tall, the sun was high and the dew was glistening on the leaves.

Courtney and Jeffrey were so captivated by their love that the rest of the environment seemed to disappear around them. They held hands, they embraced and they explored together all while the photographer captured the romantic exchange.

Courtney wore a dress she purchased at a beloved boutique. It was a lace-topped, off-white maxi dress that complemented her fair skin tone. She wore her blonde hair half-up with soft curls and a gold bangle with, of course, her wedding ring. Jeffrey sported a plaid button-down shirt with dark jeans. He combed his hair to the side and wore a handsome watch.

Shoes were not a problem for this couple, as they walked through the woods barefoot. They definitely wanted to be completely in-touch with their location and to us that is perfection.

Hand-in-hand they continued to enjoy their company as the sun began to fade and the night painted the sky dark. The photographer said they could've just left them alone, to enjoy each other's company. Luckily, the photographer hung around to capture it all.

Courtney and Jeffrey will look back on their first anniversary with adoration for many years to come. If their photos are any indication, they will have a rich, storied future together.
