Cannon Beach Oregon Styled Shoot
Two souls converging towards one path, illuminated with passion and invigorated by the melodic movement of the ocean – that’s the premise behind this mesmerizing styled shoot in Cannon Beach, Ore. The majestic detail is inspired by the promise of warm light and the beckoning blue waves. The photographers sought to capture the movement of the bride’s hair, the grass and the wave - all equally different but relative.
The bride’s hair is down with one side twisted and tucked, perfect for the outdoor shoot, and she dons a voluminous tulle ball gown that evokes a pale blush hue. The billowy skirt shifts beneath her as she runs through the tall beachy grasses next to the shore.
The groom is the picture of modern style with his hair pulled back while sporting a crisp black suit and black tie.
The flowers, much like the location, sprout with color and emulate a coastal expression. Lavender roses, blue thistle, assorted wildflowers and dusty miller all combine for a texture-filled floral vision in both the bouquet and table centerpiece. A unique addition of delicate coral adds to the beachy brilliance.
The pair make a striking image as they stand back-to-back within the grass, overlooking the sand and surf. The sun begins to set, creating a myriad of colors in the sky, perfectly reflecting on the water the color scheme of the day.
Capturing the energy of the breeze, the table’s blue linens blow rhythmically to the push and pull of the tide. An oversized floral centerpiece is complemented by two small floral adornments on the couple’s wooden chairs.
The mixture of modern and classic touches offer a nice balance to the low-key location.
Clean and simple white plates are accompanied by industrial-inspired flatware, creating a unique combination of textures and styles.
The bride’s gown features a multitude of details. A slit on the side offers extra movement, while the pleated panels of tulle and the modern neckline are a modern twist on the traditional style.
The bride and groom come together and let the water collect at their feet, not noticing the number of tide pools starting to form around them.
The sky turns pink and creates the illusion of two heavens as its reflected in the water. Hand-in-hand they walk the shore and admire nothing but each other.
The bride bravely holds the hem of her gown and explores the sandy shore further, never hesitating to become one with the ocean.
This shoot shows the power of movement. By exploring the elements and incorporating that energy into the details of your day, you can curate a vision that's perfect for whatever location you find yourself embracing.
