Charlotte Wedding Show

The Big Fake Wedding is making its way across the U.S. and this time the bridal show alternative hosted brides and their loved ones in the Queen City itself – Charlotte, North Carolina. The theme of this Big Fake Wedding was “Oil is the New Watercolor,” inspiring vendors and brides alike to step outside the usual creative box and dare to try something a little different. The chief color palette included shades of purple, sage green, blue, and white. The designers also used a gorgeous balance of both dark, bold colors and bright light hues.

Delicate flowers were also another notable inclusion, which can be seen through the invitation suite, the bouquets, and the bride’s charming headpiece.

The Big Fake Wedding always invites an already-married couple to participate in a vow renewal ceremony so guests can see a wedding from start to finish. This Charlotte couple was more than excited to begin their day and embark on this authentic experience.

The beaming bride wore an uncanny, but totally original, strapless blue dip-dyed gown. She accessorized with dainty gold jewelry and the biggest of smiles.

Her bouquet was a unique shape that boasted the likes of dusty miller, white roses, and dark red scabiosa for a touch of drama.

After the ceremony, the couple wasted no time celebrating and headed to the dance floor. Attendees could take the time to enjoy the party and sample of the event’s amazing treats.

Reception tables were decorated with dyed cheesecloth table runners, a plethora of candles and many unique additions such as metallic votives, vintage glassware, gold-rimmed china, and much more. The glass vases were also filled with water and swirled with oil paint for a truly artistic suggestion.
