Cherry Basket Farm Wedding
Cherry Basket Farm Wedding.
There’s only one word to describe Kayla and Steve’s wedding at Cherry Basket Farm in Omena, Michigan: charming. Their splendid event was designed with the farm in mind, incorporating rustic and romantic touches while honoring their own unique style. The homespun feel of their big day was felt every step of the way, enveloping their guests in a warm embrace from the first kiss to the last dance.
The invitation suite boasted a pop of pink color along with a laidback font that gave guests a glimpse into their relaxed, romantic day.
Kayla’s wedding shoes also gave a hint into the day’s aesthetic: flowers and lots of them!
The original farmhouse built in 1890 is where Kayla and her bridesmaids got ready.
Bride Kayla looked radiant alongside her best girls who wore an assortment of long blue dresses in an array of styles.
Steve and his groomsmen went sans jackets on this special day and chose a look complete with suspenders, bow ties, dark blue pants and brown shoes. The groom topped his style off with a black hat.
The happy couple took photos before the ceremony, where Kayla beamed in her lace fit-and-flare gown as she clutched her bouquet – a colorful collection of roses, scabiosa, seeded eucalyptus, and assorted greenery. The groom showed off his wedding day look, too, as he joined his bride one last time before the ceremony.
On the farm, guests were greeted with gorgeous handwritten signs pointing them to the ceremony.
Kayla and Steve made their commitments to one another in front of a floral arbor and sealed their vows with a kiss.
After the ceremony, the reception was held under an expansive white tent on the farm’s property.
To keep with their laidback, romantic wedding style, guests found their seats thanks to a seating chart made with assorted vintage frames and modern calligraphy.
The layout of the reception space was cozy and inviting with long family-style tables set for dining.
Tablescapes included colorful blue fabric runners, framed table numbers and dainty floral centerpieces placed down the center of each table.
Each napkin and menu card was also hand-tied with twine for a small but noticeable added touch.
Light blush fabric added a softness to the tent’s interior. And behind the head table, the couple included a “Better Together” sign for a touch of whimsy.
The family table, a very important touch to their reception, included cherished photos in honor of their family members, as well as small accents that tie in the theme of their day.
Under the shade of a nearby tree, the couple created a lounge space with cozy chairs and a sofa for guests to kick back and relax.
Kayla and Steve snuck away to stroll among the farm’s namesake – the cherry trees – where the vivid red fruit framed them in delicious color. They held hands, they shared a kiss and they basked in the newly-found feeling of wedded bliss.
Kayla and Steve struck the perfect balance between their venue and their vision. With a farm as their canvas, they created an event that was down-home, charming, cozy and elegant. It evoked a beauty that was also warm, kind and gentle. And we’re sure many would probably say the same for the bride and groom.
