Chicago Urban Art Society Handmade Wedding

Chicago Urban Art Society Handmade Wedding. The inspiration for Kristi and David's Downtown Chicago nuptials was simple: family and friends. Their loved ones were the reason they wanted to celebrate, so naturally, they hoped the experience would be as memorable and special as possible. Set at the Chicago Urban Art Society, these two pulled off a DIY wedding touched with love in every single detail. Kristi embraced a Bohemian chic look for her big day. She let her lovely light brown hair hang down in loose curls and wore a floral headband instead of a veil. Her fit-and-flare lace gown had a sweetheart neckline and straps. She accessorized with gold peep-toe sandals and gold jewelry.

She met up with her groom outside for a first-look moment and to take bridal party portraits. Sneaking up behind him, David revealed his dark suit, light blue tie, and brown shoes.

They were both overcome with excitement.

The bridal party gathered in front of sprawling willows. The bridesmaids wore neutral-colored dresses in all styles and shapes.

The groomsmen wore light gray pants and blue ties. And yes, David had a groomswoman who also looked beautifully coordinated in a gray dress.

Many of the handmade details were created exclusively by the couple and their loved ones. Guests were greeted with handwritten signs directing them to the ceremony space.

Their venue was outfitted with wooden chairs and an aisle flanked by glass jars of flowers.

In front of family and friends, the two said I do with string lights and a chandelier casting a radiant glow on the scene.

Their ceremony space was flipped and was soon ready to host a joyful celebration.

Long family-style tables were set-up for guests to share and enjoy. They were decorated with white pillar candles, flowers, and painted glass bottles of pink and gold, holding tall white tapers.

Kristi and David featured their initials in several areas of the reception. One notable touch included a lit vintage sign on the wall and another, their adorable cake-topper.

A white cake with multiple layers of white ruffles looks cute and quaint with a small gold D&K banner on top.

The industrial, urban quality of the venue was softened with the metallic gold details, homemade flower arrangements, and lively personalities of Kristi and David. The couple made their way down the steps to join their guests.

After cutting the cake, the two were ready to let loose and have fun. They even gave guests a chance to make some memories with a handmade photobooth perfect for capturing those ever-important party faces!

To end the night on a truly high note, Kristi and David left amidst a tunnel of white sparklers. Friends and family gathered on both sides to bid adieu to the two and wish them much happiness on their new life together.
