Industrial Portland Oregon Wedding at Castaway
Industrial Portland Oregon Wedding at Castaway. Some venues have everything you need. Others, allow you to dream up your own space. Rozie and Jimmy were high school sweethearts. It came as no surprise that for their hometown Portland wedding, close friends and family would join in the huge party. Their upscale and stylish day was made possible with a refreshing color palette, posh venue, and most importantly, a blank canvas from which to work. Rozie looked as if she stepped out from a high-fashion magazine. Interestingly, her dress was made by a local designer.
The gown’s mermaid fit accentuated her shape beautifully and featured drop sleeves and thin straps that ran to the stunning back. She accessorized with a sparkling choker and cathedral-length veil.
The color palette played a huge part in the look of the day, from start to finish. The invitation suite included artwork of Portland and the lovely combination of dark green, cream, and touches of navy.
Bridesmaids wore short gray dresses in various styles. They collectively looked amazing and each lady, including the bride, carried a bouquet with various cream roses and assorted greenery.
Jimmy looked handsome and happy on his wedding day. Clad in a navy blue suit, Jimmy accessorized with a light gray tie and boutonniere. His groomsmen also wore navy, except for the best man in gray, and every gentleman wore a light blue tie. They looked like a seamless, suave bunch.
Castaway Portland is one of the most sought-after venues for its perfect blank slate, allowing couples to create the exact experience they desire.
Because of its industrial aesthetic, the couple used flowers and candlelight to soften the look of the ceremony space.
Standing on a platform so all guests could see, Rozie and Jimmy were bathed in natural light from the windows. They said “I do†and headed outside for formal photos.
Rozie and Jimmy looked like a perfect pair. Rozie’s beautiful gown and Jimmy’s crisp and clean suit created a beautifully modern appearance.
Outside of the glass of the greenhouse, the bridal party gathered for a group photo. Even a small gray-clad flower girl joined the lovely group.
Inside, string lights both on the ceiling and in the trees produced a subtle, warm glow. The space was brightened even more with white table linens, dinnerware, and napkins.
Round glass vases served as centerpieces, holding white roses and tulips and waxy magnolia leaves with assorted greenery. The small bunches were held together with navy blue ribbon.
Their cake was a beautiful way to bring the outside in. Four white tiers with frosted buttercream were housed on a silver cake stand. Each tier featured a small band of color on each layer and white roses and stephanotis cascaded down the front of the cake, while small bunches of white flowers were placed sporadically around the creation.
As the night fell, the candlelight became more pronounced and the space became warm and celebratory.
Rozie and Jimmy enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife. Rozie took off her veil for easier movement around the dance floor. Their guests clapped and cheered from the side.
Never discount the possibilities a space can give you. Rozie and Jimmy chose this industrial venue for their nuptials and brought in elements that made it a stunningly modern and sophisticated experience. A blank canvas has all the potential to be something multi-faceted and unforgettable. Congratulations!
