Italy is such a romantic country! Venice was our first stop on the trip. My best friend and I have never seen such a city quite like it. There are no cars as you must walk or bike through the small alleyways. There's so much charm within this city from the old buildings, to the bridges, to the river that flows throughout. We visited Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Square (a great spot for photos of the river!), and Saint Mark's Basilica. We took the train to Florence where it's full of history and amazing architecture. Not to mention the shopping was so much fun! Pisa has always been a place I've wanted to visit because I remember my mother going there when she was a young adult. She told me all about it and now I have finally made the trip out to see it. There was that feeling of excitement that I felt when I first saw the leaning tower in person. It's amazing how this particular building has been leaning for many years! Our last stop on our Italy trip was Rome. We visited the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, eating gelato, and had fun shopping. Our most memorable moment was visiting Vatican City. We visited the museum on Saturday and the next day, we went to Sunday mass where we got to see the Pope in person! He blessed the crowd while transporting in his popemobile. I can't wait to go back to Italy to visit other part of the country.
