Light and Dark Bridal Inspiration

Light and Dark Bridal Inspiration. This inspirational shoot shows the beauty of the contrasting styles of light and dark. With a penchant for both the unique and the luxurious, this shoot captures the best of white and black styles and how they will always be timeless wedding colors.

The first half of the shoot was dubbed “Light Catcher,” and a timeworn brick wall serves as the perfect backdrop to showcase various bridal looks. A pair of stunning statement heels kick off the light-inspired styles.

A bouquet brimming with blush ranunculus and hearty leaves is tied with blush pink ribbons. It's held by a bride showcasing stunning statement baubles.

The bride’s first look is a V-neck lace gown with a long, delicate skirt. She accessorizes with a collection of necklaces and her hair is styled in one statement braid.

Next, the bride dons an eclectic floral headpiece to complement her dewy makeup and side-swept ‘do. She dons a gold statement necklace to accentuate the two-piece, lace-inspired gown.

The back detail of this look is filled with floral details. From the small embellishments in the hair to the floral appliques on the straps and skirt, this is a look that makes an impact coming and going.

In a two-piece gown, the bride turns around to show off the back detail with the lace design on the bodice and the stunning lace-hemmed train.

To create a different hairstyle, her hair is swept up in a low updo and accentuated with a white floral headband.

In a unique twist that combines both light and dark, the bride dons an open back long sleeve lace gown and embellishes her braided hairstyle with red scabiosa blooms.

She also grabs a lace-inspired jacket to add a dynamic element to her gown.

Her last look features a unique interpretation of “light” by incorporating a lit floral crown along with her bridal veil. She dons a two-piece gown which features a scalloped top and flowing skirt, complete with a train.

The second half of the shoot was affectionately named “Delicate Darkness” and the team of stylists capture its essence in exquisite fashion.

In front of a black background, this dark-haired bride looks brilliant in a white, short sleeve gown and floral crown.

Her next look is more exotic with its unique design detail that lays on top of a simple plunging gown with thin straps. She wears a lace-hemmed veil and completes her hairstyle with an offset dainty floral headpiece.

She, too, personalizes her look with a collection of statement rings and bangles.

This bride is modern and chic, and proves it by sporting a white “I do” bomber jacket over her bridal gown.

She transforms her look entirely with a long sleeve lace gown and a bouquet made with a simple collection of greenery. But the lightness comes by way of a lit floral hydrangea headpiece at the base of her neck.

Sheer skirts on wedding gowns are gaining popularity and this stunning example helps show off a fabulous pair of heels.

This short sleeve V-neck gown is modern and simple. She dresses it up with an all-white floral headpiece and moves a bangle up her arm.

Using the same statement necklace from the earlier half of the shoot, the bride dons a lace short sleeve dress that gives off Bohemian vibes. She wears a simple floral crown to add additional brightness.

In one last awe-inspiring shot, she holds a bouquet bursting with interesting elements like gold ferns and feathers to add just a small touch of color to the dark-inspired shoot

There’s beauty to behold in both light and dark themes and this shoot explores them all. From the brilliant white wedding gowns to the moody black background, the contrasting qualities for both themes are well-balanced and innovative. This shoot takes timeless black and white wedding styles and reinvents them for 2017, and beyond.
