NC Museum of Art Wedding
NC Museum of Art Wedding. One might say Elizabeth and Andrew’s Raleigh, NC, wedding day was the product of a few mice. After meeting as lab technicians and sharing information on the mice they studied for a project, their innocent flirtation grew into something stronger and both soon realized that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Their pastel-filled day at the NC Museum of Art was a creative mix of modern and sophisticated styles.
Elizabeth chose a classic strapless ball gown that featured a sweetheart neckline, pleated waist and skirt, and lace bodice. She accessorized with an equally classic veil over her sleek updo.
Shades of ivory and gray in the timeless invitation suite were just a small glimpse of what was to come for their elegant affair.
From the start, it was evident that Elizabeth loved garden roses. The peach and pink blooms, along with assorted white flowers, not only completed her bouquet but much of the wedding arrangements, as well.
After the appearance of two precious flower girls, Elizabeth walked down the aisle to her awaiting Andrew. The groom wore a gray suit and completed his look with a light blue tie and brown shoes.
After the traditional Jewish ceremony, the couple were all smiles as they walked hand-in-hand back up the aisle, reveling in their exuberance as husband and wife.
The bridal party stayed outside for post-ceremony photos. Elizabeth beamed alongside her bridesmaids who donned long gray dresses.
The bride and groom also took unique photos with some of the museum’s inspiring outdoor structures, including the reflecting pool and the trio of Gyre rings.
Presented at the Museum’s Iris Restaurant, long reception tables were paired with retro-inspired white chairs to echo the artistic ambiance.
Sleek and slender white vases punctuated the tables along with gentle candlelight.
Cocktail tables were wrapped in delicate blush color linens and secured with glittering gold ties.
To continue the floral inspiration, the couple chose a four-tier white fondant-covered cake. The design displayed hand-painted flowers in a myriad of pink hues.
With smiles illuminating the room, the couple enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife. Pretty soon, the band got everyone on their feet to celebrate the new Mr. and Mrs.
At the end of the evening, the bride and groom were cheered on as they left amid a flurry of bubbles and streamers.
Elizabeth and Andrew definitely have science to thank for their special day. A few mice and a lot of chemistry brought these two together, and their wedding was nothing short of a spectacular observation to this wonderful phenomenon called love.
