New York City Wedding

New York City Wedding.

How I planned the wedding: Although we had a wedding coordinator and a planner my partner and I planned everything by ourselves. We both have similar taste and like to be in control. We wanted our wedding to be have "our touch" we both like Great Gatsby therefore we had small champagne tower right next to our wedding cake, to have that glamours classy 20's party vibe.

Fun fact: The bride loves pink peonies, peonies are not in season on September. The groom brought peonies from Europe and surprised the bride on the day of wedding.

How we met: My spouse and I met on bumble. After meeting, we found out that we were neighbors! We had our first date in our neighborhood restaurant Ousia. My spouse asked me to have coffee with him instead of drinks because he knew I was a Muslim and he wasn't sure if I drink or not so he wanted to be respectful.

What inspired your wedding style: I was inspired by Grace Kelly. Since I was a little girl I have always liked her movies, style and attitude. Which is why I wanted to have a modern and sophisticated wedding. I wore tiara from bridal styles boutique to feel like a princess. Our wedding was held at the Dominick Hotel, the motto of the hotel is Uptown Sophistication with Downtown Edge which completely goes well with our theme. We had family and friends from West Coast to the Middle East. What made our wedding special was we had such an international group from all over the world. I am Turkish and my husband is American, in order to embrace our religious difference, we had Unitarian priest and unity candles.
