Red Oklahoma Civic Center Wedding
Gina and Andy opted for a venue with all-in-one convenience for their classic wedding in Oklahoma City. Set at the Oklahoma Civic Center, one grand ballroom first served as the ceremony space and then was flipped for a fun and fabulous reception. It was Gina’s sassy tweets on Twitter that initially caught Andy’s eye. After meeting through a mutual friend, and then parting ways, it didn’t take long for Andy to send her a message and reconnect. Only seven months after they started dating, Andy got down on one knee.
Gina’s gown was replete with detail. Stunning lace fabric was embellished with beading around the neckline and the waist, which was accentuated with pleated fabric.
To echo the dazzle of her dress, she wore gold wedge heels with ornate beaded embellishments down the front.
Gina thought through every one of her accessories. To match the sparkle of her dress, shoes, and those all-important rings, even her garter had tiny hints of beadwork and pearls.
To add character and style to the wedding, the couple chose a bold and vibrant color palette. Gina’s bouquet mirrored this choice with its red, pink, orange, purple, and yellow blooms.
One of Gina’s favorite moments of the day was getting ready with her bridesmaids. As she was zipped up in her gown, her bridesmaids also completed their looks.
Each lady wore a short one-shoulder berry-colored dress. To offset the confident color, they carried all-white bouquets.
Two adorable flower girls matched in ivory dresses with tiny notes of sparkle at the waist. They carried small white baskets down the aisle to fulfill their duties.
The bride and groom each took photos with their respective sides of the bridal party. Andy and his groomsmen all wore traditional black tuxedos and vests, with black bow ties and white rose boutonnieres.
Although Gina and Andy didn’t see one another before the ceremony, they did take the opportunity to capture a fun photo holding hands around a door in anticipation.
Gina put on a veil to walk down the aisle to Andy in Meinders Hall of Mirrors. It was here where Andy recalls one of his favorite memories – all the meaningful and hilarious moments they shared throughout the ceremony.
They sealed their vows with a kiss and excitedly made their way back down the aisle as the newly-minted “Mr.” and “Mrs.”
After the ceremony, they gathered again with their party, this time as an entire group, for photos. The contrast between the white, black, and berry color was exquisite and eye-catching.
These two had no problem exhibiting the look of love after their ceremony.
Guests were offered programs with information about not only the bridal party but also, fun facts about the couple, as well as a "thank you" note from the bride and groom.
Meinders Hall of Mirrors was transformed with the help of round reception tables and the strategic placement of fabric panels that were tied back with red ribbon.
The cake also incorporated their bold choice of color. The square creation featured three tiers, each with a different buttercream design and embellished with small touches of colorful flowers and a dazzling “C” cake topper.
With the lights turned down low, the couple celebrated with their first dance as husband and wife. They also played a fun game as they tried to answer questions about themselves in front of their guests.
As the night drew to a close, they exited amid a cloud of birdseed and hopped into a horse-drawn carriage.
The look and feel of Gina and Andy’s Oklahoma City wedding came full circle with their classic looks, elegant touches, and a venue with 1930s allure. And even though their wedding day was tasteful and traditional, Gina managed to show off her sassy side – the quality that first caught Andy's eye, now forever cherished in his heart.
