RiverOaks Charleston Wedding Shoot
Teaming with an eclectic blend of old world and Southern charm, this wedding shoot at RiverOaks in Charleston, South Carolina, is resplendent. The inclusion of timely trends mixed with organic additions straight from nature exudes refreshing, luxurious beauty at a location that delivers on both the river views and oak tree shades. This styled shoot was curated as part of a workshop from Belle Lumiere Magazine. It kicked off with a classic invitation sealed with a wax stamp to welcome its attendees.
The bridal look features a pleated halter-style gown. To match the neckline, the bride's hair is tucked up in a modern updo.
Her bouquet features an array of flowers – roses, ranunculus, curly willow – all varying in soft colors and tied with silk ribbons.
The photographers made sure to shoot at the perfect time of day, where the bride could bask in the warm sunlight as she’s surrounded by the venue’s lush vegetation.
RiverOaks has many interesting and unique features that are reminiscent of a European countryside. The bride takes in views from the river, enjoys a stroll through the woods, and finds herself at the carriage house, a structure beckoning with its billowy curtains.
Her gown also features an open back that ties simply at the top. It’s an unexpected but fun touch and great for the steamy South Carolina weather.
The wedding invitation is an endearing collection of floral-inspired pieces wrapped in a color palette of blue and white. It even features a small booklet designed with the venue on the front cover and held together by a ribbon.
A great shot of the ring has to include a divine ring box. The uniquely-shaped marquise-cut engagement ring looks spectacular housed in light blue velvet.
Just beyond the succulent fountain, guests can sit down for a gorgeous outdoor reception under the trellis.
The lovely tablescape embraces the outdoor dining experience with folding chairs and long fabric placemats instead of a traditional tablecloth.
Place settings are touched with small leafy sprigs, as well as figs and berries. The entire table is anchored with lovely, overflowing floral arrangements, wine bottles, and an assortment of tall pillar candles.
The dessert table is set in front of a wall crawling with greenery. The cake is a two-tier dessert with a light coating of buttercream and garnish of assorted sugared fruits.
Soon the bride lets her hair down – a perfect transition look from day to evening.
From in front of the wooden barn doors to the rose bushes, her style fits the location exquisitely.
RiverOaks is a dream of a venue for a bride looking to mix old traditions and new trends. This styled shoot boasts classic wedding elegance with the modest and simple styles of today. From the banks of the river to underneath the mossy oaks, one can feel like they're in Europe while still enjoying the familiar essence of South Carolina.
