Rustic Skykomish Washington Styled Wedding Shoot

If you wanted a rustic feel to your wedding but also wanted a little flair, we have a wonderful styled shoot from Skykomish, Washington that we hope will provide inspiration. The pictures were taken at a cabin in the woods. Now, you can't get more rustic than that. The natural surroundings of the trees with the wood frame of the house provided such a wonderful back drop. But the bride and groom are not dressed in drab outfits, there is color which is a great contrast for the neutral tones of the cabin.

First, let's look at the bride. It is definitely not something that you would expect at a wedding at a cabin. It is simply stunning. The bodice has such intricate detail and we just love how the skirt gathers and flairs out. The hat/veil just makes the ensemble more elegant. The vibrant colors in her bouquet blend so well with the bright red tie for the groom.

You could also turn a theme like this vintage very easily by adding a few elements. The cabin is a great location for a vintage wedding and they included an old camera, clock, books and lantern to give it more an ancient feel.

This shoot shows that you can be rustic and elegant. It is possible. You choose the right venue that will provide the right back drop and you can have elements to make it an elegant affair.  Adding color to your day will help as well as the careful to selection of the gown and accessories. Don't think that you have to dress frumpy if you want a more rustic venue. You can still be elegant no matter where you decide to tie the knot. This is 2013 and we do things differently now.
