Schlafly Tap Room St Louis Missouri Wedding
Schlafly Tap Room St Louis Missouri wedding. Lauren and Andy met at the age of 14, fell in love at 17, and were engaged to be married at 25. After eight years of dating, they know almost all there is to know about each other. One thing they are certain about is their love for all things nostalgic. Andy proposed to Lauren with her great-grandmother's engagement ring, they live in the house her father grew up in from 1971, and decided to host their reception at St. Louis Schlafly Tap Room, built in 1904.
Lauren wore a beautiful lace fit-and-flare gown with straps. She accessorized with fun items like blue heels with bow accents, an elbow-length veil, and a bouquet bursting with color. Many of the arrangements in the wedding were full of succulents, berries, thistle, lilies, and additional textured blooms.
From the first look to the first kiss, Lauren and Andy were all smiles throughout their ceremony, which included classic hits of King Harvest and The Beatles performed by Lauren's brother. With a grand window and soft light from two wall sconces, the two were wed in front of family and friends.
The bridesmaids wore long dusty-rose colored dresses with boat necks, lace tops and ruching around the waist. They covered their shoulders in light pashminas and carried bouquets similar to the bride's.
Andy looked classic and timeless. He, and his groomsmen, all wore black tuxedoes and black bowties. Naturally, the groom had to stand out, so he wore light brown shoes. Andy and his childhood friends also wore boutonnieres made with succulents and pheasant feathers for a unique twist.
The beautiful stonework served as an elegant backdrop for the couple and their lovely bridal party.
Lauren even grabbed a vintage 1950s fur stole to elegantly shield her shoulders from the chill.
Never to over-do a theme, Lauren and Andy kept a cool balance between vintage and modern. Their reception featured centerpieces of bright flowers and wooden slats made by the bride and her father!
Also, included on the tables were cheeky and vintage books, along with antique table numbers and candles.
The original exposed brick walls of the Schlafly Tap Room also added extra character to the space.
The cake was a white four-tier creation. Dotted with golden pearls along each layer, the top featured an antique cake topper with a bride and groom sharing a bench.
They also had another individual cake with a lace Just Married banner as a topper. The cakes sat on a dessert table covered with greenery and white hydrangea a lush and lovely scene.
They honored their loved ones at the reception, as well. A display of photos shows the past brides and grooms from the families of the couple. How fun!
Even though they love everything from yesteryear, they had their first dance to Halo by Beyonce. One spin around the dance floor and this couple was ready to celebrate! They offered each guest two favors “ a vintage vinyl record and a pie “ and also, the chance to take part in a black and white photobooth!
Lauren and Andrew had a vision for their day and incorporated it in the most tasteful of ways. Small touches here and there tied in the look and feel of their wedding without overpowering the purpose of the celebration. They looked classic, elegant, and completely and utterly themselves.
