South Carolina Wedding at The Ivy Place
Drenched in shimmering gold and succulent greens, Madeleine and Stewart’s South Carolina wedding at Ivy Place was a spectacular affair planned simply by the bride and her mother! Together, they pulled off a fantastic fete complete with a traditional church ceremony followed by a lovely reception at one of the Queen City’s most charming venues. The details of the wedding – from the invitation suite to the bride’s earrings – were timeless and classic.
Madeleine’s bouquet featured a romantic collection of flowers. White hydrangea and assorted roses were nestled among a bed of greenery and filler flowers for a delicate presentation.
Madeleine chose a dramatic Hayley Paige ball gown for her wedding day. While the voluminous tulle skirt was utterly pristine, the modern neckline was fashion-forward.
The bride exchanged letters with her groom before the ceremony, wiping away quiet tears from her face.
While the sun splashed over the house, the couple met for a first look moment before the ceremony. Wrapped up in each other’s arms, Madeleine and Stewart couldn’t withhold their excitement.
Stewart’s classic black tuxedo was the perfect complement to his bride’s princess ball gown.
The back detail of Madeline’s gown was stunning and unexpected.
They gathered their entire bridal party on the lawn of The Ivy Place for pre-ceremony photos. With groomsmen in black tuxedos and bridesmaids in dark blue gowns, everyone matched with their beaming smiles.
While Madeline and her bridesmaids took one last group photo, Stewart and his groomsmen were eager to head to the ceremony site.
Madeline was escorted down the aisle to her awaiting Stewart. In front of family and friends, the two exchanged vows, rings, and kisses in a traditional ceremony.
Their reception was a floral-filled affair complete with touches of gold and abundant candlelight.
The guest book was a personalized tree portrait where guests could “sign” by leaving their thumbprint.
As guests entered, they were greeted by Madeleine’s stunning bridal portrait – a Southern tradition – as string lights across the ceiling.
Long tables featured runners of greenery while round tables were decorated with tall candelabras. Wooden slats were interspersed to tie in The Ivy Place’s rustic charm to the indoor reception.
Their delightful wedding cake featured a simple buttercream design with a “love” scripted cake topper and fresh flowers. The creation sat atop a glittering gold cake table.
Madeleine and Stewart knew they wanted a laidback affair where they could celebrate with the ones they loved most – and they did it thanks to the careful planning from the bride and her mom. What a spectacular celebration it was! Congratulations to these Southern sweethearts!
