Switzerland Inn and Chalet Restaurant NC Wedding
Switzerland Inn and Chalet Restaurant. It always helps to have an inn when it comes to a wedding. For bride, Jordan, there was no other venue to wed at than her family's own private resort near the Blue Ridge Parkway in Little Switzerland, North Carolina. Jordan and her groom, Nathan, planned an October wedding with lots of family and friends at the Switzerland Inn. Jordan chose a ball gown for her big day. The ivory-colored gown featured a lace bodice, modified V-neck and billowy tulle skirt with lace appliques. Pearl-drop earrings and a long veil with blusher were her quintessential accessories.
Her bridesmaids looked radiant in long purple dresses of varying styles. Each lady carried a bouquet full of white, pink, red and purple flowers.
The groom and his groomsmen kept it classic with black tuxedos, black bowties and light purple pocket squares.
Even though it was chilly, Jordan walked down the aisle to Nathan outside with the mountains in the distance. In front of a flower-dressed arbor the couple said I do before a loving group of family and friends.
After the ceremony, Jordan and Nathan stayed put to take photos with their bridal party. The group had a gorgeous mountain backdrop behind them.
The couple then took off and captured a few intimate photos near a small tunnel, a unique find, before making their way to the indoor reception.
The look for the reception was inspired by figs and gold metallic. Tables were embellished with bright and beautiful flower arrangements, gold charger plates and champagne napkins with menu cards tucked inside. Exclusive touches included gold glittered table letters instead of numbers and small dark purple vintage glassware to hold petite collections of flowers.
Keeping with the theme, the cake was a five-tier fondant-covered creation. While the fondant was white, the cake artist brushed edible gold metallic paint on the top half of the layers. The look was finished with figs and sprigs of eucalyptus placed about the tiers.
The party livened up quickly and the couple and their guests really got into the music. They laughed and danced well into the night, soaking up every second of their reception.
Sometimes the best choices are those right in front of you. Jordan's family's inn was the perfect wedding location for her and Nathan. And for her two sisters, as well!
