Temecula Winery Wedding - Fine Art Film
Temecula Winery Wedding - Fine Art Film.
From the bride: How did you two meet? Gwinn and Allie met as children in Atlanta, GA. They both attended The Galloway School, where Gwinn was three grades above Allie. Her sister, Mollie, was very close with Gwinn growing up, so they they were often around each other. In college, Gwinn tried a handful of times to make something happen with Allie, but the timing just wasn’t right. In 2013, Allie’s sister got married, and the two of them just couldn’t deny the chemistry any longer. At her wedding, they took the plunge, and have been together ever since.
How did he propose? Allie almost accidentally derailed Gwinn’s plans! The week before proposing, Gwinn asked her if she would like to go wine tasting at their regular spot, Agua Dulce Winery, just north of Los Angeles where they live. Initially, this seemed like a great idea, but on the morning of the proposal, Allie suggested they go to another winery in Temecula, where they had never visited before. She had no idea he was planning to propose. Nor did she know two of her best friends were coordinating with him, one of which flew in from Texas for the very occasion! Fortunately, Gwinn and Allie’s friends were able to re work their plans, and they surprised her by filming their engagement from behind the bushes!
What was your planning experience like (did you hire a planner or did you DIY)? We didn’t hire a planner, but we were very fortunate to have a coordinator at Mount Palomar, who helped us with the planning process. We really left it to the pro’s to do their magic. We felt completely comfortable giving our florist/event designer free range to do what she does best, and she made everything perfect.
Why did you pick your venue? We immediately fell in love with the romantic scenery at Mount Palomar. It is the highest point in Temecula, so the view is breathtaking. We loved the greenery, the grape vines, and the overall tuscan feel of the place. We knew right away that that was where we wanted to say ‘I do.’
How would you describe your wedding dress, and why did you say yes to it? Etherial and romantic. I said yes to my dress because I felt like a bride when I put it on. It honestly felt like it was designed for me. It was light, flowy, and romantic, which was exactly what I wanted. As soon as I put it on I knew it was my dress.
What inspired the theme/style of your wedding? The secret garden. Any general thoughts about how the wedding day went? Favorite parts? Most anticipated moments? Our wedding day could not have been more perfect or magical. It was the very image of what we hoped for. Our favorite part was seeing each other for the first time as Allie walked down the aisle. Dancing together as husband and wife will always be an incredible moment to remember, and celebrating with the people we love the most! Allie’s Dad also gave a heart warming and hilarious speech!
Any advice for future brides? This may sound cliche, but focus on what matters, and that is the union and the marriage. Your wedding day, although a very important day, is just one day. If things go wrong, which they will, shrug it off and remember who you’re there for. Your husband. Also, make sure to take a moment at the reception and look around you. Take it all in. It goes by so fast.
