The Barnett Building Wedding Shoot

The Barnett Building Wedding Shoot. A vintage space can be brought back to life with the addition of a few hardy details and a colorful palette push. The Barnett Building in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida, is on the cusp of undergoing a renovation. Luckily, this shoot took place right before the transformation, capturing its timeworn beauty with the inclusion of seasonal spirit. An invitation offers a modest, yet modern introduction. Contemporary gold calligraphy on a white invitation and a purple reply card look stunningly simple.

The style begs for bold flowers. Eucalyptus and dark purple hydrangea are casually tied with purple satin ribbon. The added texture and coordinated color combination offers the perfect contrast to the bride’s ivory look.

Place settings feature white and gold dinnerware and plum-colored napkins. Small pastries with seasonal berries serve as the placecards for guests. Soft candlelight pours out over the table in place of linens. Instead of the usual floral centerpieces, this tablescape features large, luscious desserts. A collection of Bundt cakes dressed up with flowers, and chocolate layer cakes drenched with blueberries line the center of the table alongside a runner made of greenery.

The building is dark, mysterious, and uniquely romantic. A red-haired beauty wears an antique lace ivory gown with long sleeves and a show-stopping open back.  She rests against a single wooden table in the center of the room.

Another perfect and appropriate look for this shoot shows a bride lounging on a vintage chair. Her strapless sweetheart lace gown has an oversized train. She pairs it with a dark berry lip and offers a tray of berry-flavored cupcakes.

A beautiful and unpretentious building can produce a mesmeric sight. Confident traces combined with fruitful additions create a warm and inviting event, ideal for autumn but more importantly, a wedding.
