The Graylyn Estate Winston Salem NC Wedding
From its long and winding entrance, the Graylyn International Conference Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is an imperial and idyllic wedding venue. Kim and Steve only added to its castle-like beauty with a host of graceful and beautiful touches mixed with their infectious personalities.
This venue is set on a sprawling stretch of lush green grass and trees as far as the eyes can see.
Kim chose a traditional gown with a quirky sense of style.
She wore two pairs of shoes for her big day: a beautiful white pair of peep-toes and a fun gold polka dot set of Keds for comfort.
Her sweetheart style ball gown featured striped ivory fabric and ruffled accent at the waist. She completed the look with a bright red lip and headband crafted with peacock feathers.
The colors in the headband inspired the bridesmaid’s looks, as well. Ladies coordinated in long dark blue and dark green dresses with various necklines. Every lady, including the bride, carried a seamless white bouquet.
Steve was a stunning groom. He chose a traditional black tuxedo with black bowtie and white pocket square; however, his best accessory was a beaming smile.
Steve and Kim chose to have a first-look moment before the ceremony. Descending a set of stone steps, Kim appeared before Steve and the two were ecstatic to see one another.
They paused for a photo, and even an impromptu slow dance on the grass before the ceremony officially began.
White chairs were perfectly set in front of a stone gazebo.
Kim was escorted down the aisle by her father, dressed in a classic tuxedo.
The bride and groom joined hands and hearts in front of their loved ones.
The reception was a classic celebration with color. Each reception table was named for a street special to the couple and table names were placed in small arrangements of white hydrangea.
A checkerboard dancefloor was the perfect place for their first dance as husband and wife. Their friends and family gathered around its perimeter to witness the special moment.
Kim changed into a beaded gown for the reception so she could cut loose and enjoy dancing with her new husband. The space was filled with music, laughter and a joyous party.
Their wedding cake was stunningly simple. It featured four tiers of white buttercream with small pearl dots on each layer and gold pearl bands around each base. The cake was topped with adorable Harry Potter figurines for a fun and personal touch.
This wedding was classic with just the right amount of personality to make it both memorable and timeless. Graylyn is an effortlessly beautiful venue; however, the inclusion of Kim and Steve’s fun, easy-going personalities and celebration made it even more spectacular that imagined. Congratulations!
