The Island House Charleston SC Real Wedding
The Island House Charleston SC Real Wedding. Amy and Brandon hale from Richmond, Virginia, but they chose a destination wedding in Charleston, South Carolina, for a special reason. Amy’s grandparents live on John’s Island and a wedding in South Carolina meant they could attend their granddaughter’s special day. With 100 of their closest friends and family, Amy and Brandon were feted with a dreamy, no-fuss, and explicitly romantic day. The Island House was the perfect venue choice with its classic exterior and secluded location. Built for privacy and gorgeous views, this served as a great backdrop for their wedding day.
Amy wore a stunning V-neck beaded Maggie Sottero gown and paired it with Jimmy Choos, her mother-in-law’s pearl necklace, and an antique ring that served as her “something blue.”
Amy’s bridesmaids wore long dusty gray dresses with various ruched necklines. All the ladies carried beautiful bouquets with petite pink roses, white spider mums, dusty miller, and heaping amounts of delicate baby’s breath.
Brandon gifted each groomsmen with a monogrammed locket as a keepsake.
Brandon was the epitome of down-to-earth. Keeping it cool and casual, he wore brown shoes, funky socks, and a custom-tailored suit from Nordstrom with his shirt casually unbuttoned at the top.
His groomsmen wore bright blue ties, dark gray pants, and white shirts.
The two were wed overlooking the water. Under a handmade wooden arbor dressed in flowers, Amy and Brandon joined hands and made their commitments to one another.
They exited the ceremony beaming with joyful smiles.
The location provided stunning photo backdrops. With the sun sinking below the trees and the sky turning from light blue to pink, they took advantage of the natural splendor.
Their reception was held on the lawn underneath a white tent, complete with string lights and tall cocktail tables for socializing.
The reception tables featured beautiful, texture-filled flower arrangements.
The ingenious assortments included peach and purple roses, snapdragons, dusty miller, and cotton! Silver vases and simple votives completed the décor.
The couple opted for a naked wedding cake – still an incredibly popular choice as of late. Three tiers each made of three cake layers were held together with buttercream and were topped with a collection of flowers.
After their first dance as husband and wife, Amy and Brandon strolled the property and watched as the sun went down. At night, the entire venue lit up with the romantic glow of the string lights.
Amy and Brandon planned a wedding day that was abundant on charm and scarce on chaos. The ideal location and simple elegance made for the most memorable occasion for celebrating with their nearest and dearest. Congratulations!
