Tropical Fine Art Wedding

Tropical Fine Art Wedding - Destination Weddings.

There's nothing quite as romantic as the ever-restless sea... the tides, the shifting sands, the delivery of unmatched sunset backdrops. Maybe it's why many of us look to the ocean to celebrate love. Stacey and Reed chose Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for their idyllic location and what a dream wedding it was!

From the bride:  Reed and I met when we were wrapping up the first semester of our Freshman year at the University of Arizona. A friend and I were prepping for finals in one of the study rooms of her dorm. Two guys she knew walked in and she invited them to sit with us. One of them was Reed, and we hit it off right away. He threw jokes at me, and I of course threw them right back. There was something special about him, I could tell almost immediately. Little did I know, later that night he called his mom and told her he had met the girl he was going to marry. I on the other hand wanted to just be best friends. In hindsight, maybe it’s because I knew deep down he was different. But he never gave up on me. It wasn’t until a year after graduating college that I made the choice - risk ruining a friendship to see if it’s meant to be. I flew out to Chicago for the Fourth of July, and the second I saw him I knew I made the right call. We were so perfect for each other, fell so in love, and have been together ever since. He really is my best friend. He compliments me and supports me in every way possible. We make each other laugh uncontrollably every day. And if he was able to fight for me for those first 5 years, I just know he’s going to keep fighting for us our entire lives.

My vision for the wedding: It was really important to us that we kept the wedding intimate. We wanted it to feel more like we were on one big vacation with our closest friends and family, but not lose the romance of a traditional wedding. Jellyfish provided the perfect balance we were looking for.

In the months leading up to the wedding, I sent a collection of inspiration photos to their onsite design team. Looking at the venue, it was a clear choice to keep the decor minimal, so it really served as a compliment to that breathtaking view. I decided on a mix of whites and soft metallics, with pops of tropical florals and greenery. My vision was a mix of tropical and glamorous, and the design team captured it perfectly.
