Utah State Capitol Styled Shoot
The Utah State Capitol was tapped for this lovely styled shoot for its majestic architecture, impressive frescoes and abundant light. Full of dreamy whites and pretty pinks, this unique vision brings a softness brought to life thanks to sparkling accessories, a handmade gown, and unbelievable paper flowers. Yes, paper! Flowers are definitely the main theme of this shoot and the invitation suite brings it all together. White parchment, pink flower designs, and a simple pink envelope make this such a feminine collection.
Brides often find inventive ways to use something different for their bouquets such as pinwheels, brooches, and seashells. But this bouquet is beautifully curated with peach, pink and white flowers all made from paper. It’s hard to imagine this bouquet as anything but real flowers.
To mirror the sweet pastels, the bride’s rose gold engagement ring is even pink-inspired with a halo of diamonds around the edge.
The cake embraces the white and pink theme, but in a much simpler way. Two small tiers are lightly frosted with buttercream while a small pink sprig rests on the side. The bright blue glass cake plate is a perfect pop of color.
The bride’s long hair is pulled and pinned in a most intricate and ethereal updo. In lieu of a veil, she wears a dainty handmade gemstone headpiece that hangs across the back.
What a flawless background for the bride! The marbled wall complements her bright appearance and makes the flowers in her bouquet sing with color.
Her gown is a trendy crop-top design, handcrafted and perfect. The entire top is lace while the skirt is made from fluttery white tulle.
She floats over to many different areas in the capitol building, admiring the brilliant ceiling and the marble steps – the perfect ceremony entrance.
Outside, the bride fits right in with the lush landscaping of the lawn. The green in her bouquet echoes the sprawling grounds.
She looks right at home out in the open air, with the breeze sailing softly across her face. Her makeup is impeccable with light, natural touches and a defined eye.
One final shot is a sweet reminder to always thank your guests. The bride holds a floral-inspired “thank you” card to save for after the big day comes and goes.
This styled shoot is youthful and fresh, and a reminder that you can have unique touches and still pull off a polished and elegant look. And if the Utah State Capitol speaks to you just as it did for this bride, you can reserve it for your own special day, too!
