An Intimate Styled Bridal Shoot
The Retreat at Cool Spring is a storied venue set in Bluemont, Virginia, and it was the perfect spot for this styled bridal shoot as a part of a photographer’s workshop. The concept was born from the anticipation and excitement a bride feels leading up to her big day – an aspect of wedding planning we often don’t see, but all brides experience. Whether the bride is writing her vows or examining her ring, it’s a time for self-reflection. It’s the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, with a willing and hopeful partner waiting to join the adventure.
This styled shoot is characterized with antique touches such as vintage mirrors, trays, and parchment paper handwritten with vows and notes.
As the bride looks in the mirror, her face is painted with contemplation.
From the scalloped hemline on her veil, to the lace of her gown, and the curls in her hair, every detail is carefully and thoughtfully placed.
The veil is so delicate it looks as if it disappears within the soft, fluttery lace of her gown.
Candles emit a warm radiance from the depths of the fireplace. Above, a mantle is covered with a hearty serving of ivy that stands out against the white-washed walls of the historic home.
The bride’s earnest and sincere countenance is balanced with the graceful style of her gown.
Whether she’s descending the wooden staircase or sitting next to the hearth, she emits beautiful bridal style and the confidence to walk down the aisle.
While most brides experience a flurry of activity and last-minute plans before the big day, it’s important to sit back and reflect on this next step. It's an intense and chaotic time disguised with graceful, inimitable design. Tune out the world and focus on the beauty that is your life.
