Ballerina Wedding Inspiration Shoot
This wedding inspiration at Sorella Farms in Virginia is a delightful vision for girls everywhere who dreamed of becoming ballerinas. Pairing the graceful nature of classic ballet with the modern and elegant touches of today’s weddings is an ingenious collaboration. The entire shoot focuses on a color you might imagine associated with a ballet-inspired concept – blush, but it also incorporates dark blue, as well as metallic gold, to add depth to the color palette.
The bride’s gown features an embellished bodice and long flowing skirt. Forget stilettos, though. This bride wears pointe shoes!
They even manage to sneak in a dark blue pair for an unexpected touch.
Her style can be described as dreamy. Her auburn hair is curled and tucked back with a beaded comb. She also wears dangling gold earrings for added sparkle.
The bouquet is exquisite and is the perfect piece to tie in many of the colors of the shoot. It features blue hydrangea and thistle, along with assorted pink and white flowers all nestled in a bed of greenery.
Inside the barn, the walls are study, strong, and wooden. The bride looks angelic resting on the floor amid a collection of candles.
Almost resembling the intricate beadwork of a costume, the back of her gown is most definitely worthy of a standing ovation.
A table for two is placed beneath a swath of white fabric hung from an impressive chandelier. The fabric adds a softness to the room that makes it speak to the wedding style.
Scalloped china, gold flatware, and gold-rimmed glasses echo the gold candlesticks on the table.
The setting is made even more exquisite with gold high-back chairs and a collection of gold-framed mirrors hung on the wall.
The bride dons a traditional veil, modestly covering her face. But when the veil’s removed and the furniture pushed back, she sails across the floor, enjoying every twist and turn in her gown.
The cake is truly a work of art. Ballerinas are hand-painted on the fondant tiers for a unique twist on the wedding day dessert.
The cake is displayed on an antique cabinet, decorated with swags of tulle and colorful flowers.
The art of ballet is timeless, much like many of the wedding traditions and styles we enjoy today. Whether we take our cues from a centuries-old dance or simply admire it from afar, it's an art that can definitely spark our wedding imaginations.
