British Columbia Canada James Bond Inspired Wedding Shoot
Vintage, rustic celebrations are all the rage but don't discount the impact of a modern contemporary affair. With the right amount of rich and luxurious accents, you can create a glamorous ambiance that is captivating and classy. Set in the breathtaking Victoria, British Columbia, this photo shoot took a shaken, not stirred approach to wedding day inspiration.
For chic modern wedding day attire, choose a gown that is sleek and refined. Designers are pushing the envelope these days with styles, cuts and colors. Pick a dress that exchanges size for shape and chiffon to cutting edge. Choose bold, statement jewelry that really packs a punch, such as a set of sparkly bangles or large chandelier earrings.
Grooms can choose sleek black suits with classic white shirts and black bowties. The key to this look is the skinny fit of the suit. A well-tailored suit can make all the difference in the groom's wedding day appearance. Slick the hair back and add a shiny pair of shoes for a drop-dead gorgeous groom.
Modern style incorporates daring, striking patterns in solid colors. Using a canary yellow and white patterned linen can still look appropriate for a reception underneath sweet and simple flower arrangements of pink and purple buds. Incorporating a detail, like two lemons, is a charming addition. Use solid white chargers to complete the tablescape.
Adding an opulent shade, like silver or gold, can add a touch of luxury and dimension to the rest of the decor. The wedding cake in this shoot highlights the rich color of good. It features three round tiers covered in white fondant with different gold designs anchoring the layers. The baker added a simple purple flower atop the cake and tied it all together. Mixing colors and patterns is a way to achieve the modern feel.
For photobooths and ceremony backdrops, try using artistic streamers of gold circles and ovals laced together with string. The invitation suite in this shoot also used the same element to tie the design together beautifully.
And if a theme is what you're going for, bring it in through subtle, clever ways. This photo shoot leaned heavily on the likes of James Bond, so the designer used trinkets like martini glasses and silver shaker, Top Secret favor boxes, and of course, a fancy car and a getaway plane (but those aren't necessary to have a great wedding!).
Modern day inspiration is all around. The designers of this shoot chose to keep the look polished and crisp. Finessing your contemporary vision means taking a few key vibrant elements and tying them together with simple supporting accents.
And just remember, love never goes out of style.
