Holy Peony! We have photographed many weddings and never have we seen so many peonies in one place! From the dessert table, dripping in peonies out of every nook and cranny, to the beautifully adorned peony chuppah to the enormous floral installation framing the newlyweds - this real wedding looked more like an editorial than nuptials.
Every detail at this stunning wedding was well thought out, from the invitation suite with a hand calligraphed map of the Door County, to the coordinating velvet Mrs. Boxes! After the sweetest first look by the water, the couple proceeded to the ceremony area.
The wedding took place a the bride's lake-side private estate in Door County, Wisconsin. The bride and her best ladies got ready in one of the property's cottages, coordinating perfectly with the peony theme in their Plum Pretty Sugar robes. The bride wore a delicate gown from Bhldn and peony inspired, jeweled heels from Dolce + Gabbana.
The reception was held under a chiffon tent and all I can say is DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS! The ceiling of the tent was decorated with cafe lights and greenery. Wooden tables were in all different sizes for an eclectic atmosphere. All of the dishes were vintage and there was even a coffee station where each guest could choose their own vintage coffee cup to enjoy. Three cakes sat upon the dessert table, along with macaroons and other sweet delights.
Overlooking the lake, the couple said "I do" under a chuppah dripping in greenery and florals.
Every guest had chills as Rachel walked down the aisle into the sun which lit up her BHLDN gown from behind. Hunter was overcome with tears as he watched his bride walk towards him with the biggest smile. The two were married under a floral arch that perfectly complimented the bridesmaids blush and jewel dresses. Bright pink peonies and jewel accents infused with modern touches were the theme of the day, such a geometric centerpieces, hidden delicately in the trees and at the foot of the ceremony arch.
Post-dinner guests are invited to enjoy the views from the pier and natural garden landscape from the vintage-inspired lounge fashioned in modern day fabrics and finishes. The guests delighted in champagne and array of wedding cake tastings.
At the end of their enchanting estate garden wedding, the happily married couple took a walk to soak it all in before their send-off at the golden hour of sunset in a 1947 vintage Lincoln!
