Fenyes Mansion Wedding Inspiration
Fenyes Mansion Wedding Inspiration. The penchant for modern flair and old world elegance inspired this exquisite mid-century modern styled shoot at the historic Fenyes Mansion in Pasadena, Calif. The creative team pulled out all the stops with contrasts of black and white, edgy style, an intimate elopement and more to create a jaw-dropping new take for 2017 weddings.
A slate gray paper suite features elegant gold script. While the color combination is modern, the font and design gives a nod to timeless touches.
Described as “moody,” the floral arrangements are an ingenious combination of color and texture. The boutonnieres feature garden roses, smoke bush, and chocolate cosmos, much like the other arrangements throughout the shoot.
This bride’s look is anything but ordinary. She dons a crisp white Delphine Manivet wedding pantsuit, which she pairs with striking black and white heels.
Her bouquet offers a delightful pop of color, perfect for her black and white style.
The groom wears a classic white dinner jacket, black bow tie, and black pants paired with velvet loafers.
In front of the Mansion’s fireplace, the bride clutches her bouquet, casually tucking her hand into her pocket.
The groom, all smiles, presents one of the many statement floral arrangements as well, before their intimate elopement ceremony is set. Understated ferns and geometric lanterns glowing with soft candlelight fill the space with warmth.
The Mansion’s balcony serves as the reception space. A long reception table is adorned with a gray velvet linen and paired with modern black and tan bentwood chairs.
A decidedly modern place setting includes marble plates with a plated fig salad and traditional stemware and flatware.
One inventive addition includes simple taper holders with traditional bee’s wax candles.
Keeping with the modern theme, the minimalist wedding cake is a simple tiered design with white fondant, fall foliage, and individual hyacinth blooms.
The bride’s look is complete with a sleek ponytail and minimalist jewelry. The cutout detail of the pantsuit is striking and daring.
They descend the steps and take photos at the back of the mansion.
As the sunlight rains down on the venue, the couple grab their sunglasses for a chic and expressive moment.
And then, in the shadows of the trees, they embrace for one final stare as the modern muse of the day closes with the sunset.
If you’re a bride in love with modern styles, balance it with a few timeless touches to keep it relevant for years to come. Contemporary styles aren’t for every couple but if it’s in your dream wedding vision, there’s certainly an opportunity to make an impact with choice colors, unique blooms, and a stunning venue.
