Garland Oak Creek Lodge Arizona Wedding
Kierna and Chris’ wedding day at Garland’s Oak Creek Lodge in Arizona was created almost entirely by friends and family. Their magical and infectious personalities were seen in every last detail – from the heartfelt ceremony, to the unique photo booth, to the maid-of-honor’s speech. Both of Kierna’s looks for her big day were made entirely by the bride, herself. She wanted to look elegant for the ceremony so she made a ball gown with loads of beading on the bodice and a grand tulle skirt.
Her accessories included notes of blue with blue heels and jewelry with blue gemstones. It matched the details of the invitation suite perfectly.
Both the bride and groom had their best friends by their side to help them get ready.
Garland’s Oak Creek Lodge isn’t just a venue, it also boasts an enchanting apple orchard. It was the perfect spot for the couple to have a first look moment and capture the true essence of their wedding location.
Kierna playfully snuck up behind Chris and upon seeing one another, both shed a few tears of happiness followed by hearty laughter.
Chris looked handsome in a black suit with a bow tie, while his bride accompanied him in her gorgeous gown.
Their friends also looked equally as stylish, thanks in part to the bride! She handmade all the bridesmaids’ velvet green gowns.
Chris’ groomsmen wore light gray suits with bow ties and colorful boutonnieres, pocket squares, and socks.
Guests were seated in a circular arrangement around the couple and their wedding party. The bride’s father officiated the ceremony. And to acknowledge the bride’s mother, who passed away, Kierna offered each lady who served a motherly role in her life an iris, her mother’s favorite flower.
They wrote and exchanged their own heartfelt vows, which produced tears from everyone in attendance.
When their ceremony was complete, the couple walked through a beautiful door, made by the groom’s parents.
Under the shade of a nearby tree, the new Mr. and Mrs. took a few photos together while guests retreated to the reception, with directions from a personalized sign post.
Reception tables were truly magical with not just red, purple, and light blue flowers but also small unicorn figurines and gold goblets.
The head table was complete with a white linen, taper candles, and a gorgeous and bright centerpiece. It was placed under the shade of a tree, dotted with small paper lanterns.
The bride changed into a reception look that was all about ease and comfort. She wore a flowing hand-dyed skirt that echoed the purple colors of the day.
Her maid of honor gave a beautiful speech, reading a passage from Alice in Wonderland. At the end of the night, guests were invited to release eco-friendly lanterns into the dark sky with handwritten wishes for each other, the future, and loved ones.
So many people played a role in Kierna and Chris’ wedding day and the result was splendid. Not only was every detail customized for their love story but each person could put their own special touch on equally significant parts of the event – giving the bride and groom a truly one-of-a-kind experience for their one-of-a-kind love.
