Holman Ranch California Styled Shoot
This styled shoot is inspired by a story of a writer who, upon escaping to the illustrious Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, California, meets a spirited, local beauty. With an effortless attention to detail, this shoot provides ample inspiration for a polished yet natural, simple yet sophisticated wedding tale between a rugged, reflective writer and the girl whose wildness could not be contained. Holman Ranch truly has it all – charming gardens, alluring vineyards and orchards, and a gorgeous estate. The jewel of the property is the restored 1928 Carmel Stone hacienda, which exudes old world charm.
And speaking of old world charm, the invitation suite looks like an authentic collection of time-worn pieces. The aged look of the paper, along with the vintage-inspired stamps, and assortment of letters feels like they’ve been unearthed from an event held at Holman Ranch many years before.
The rich color of the ring paired with the deep wine color of the invitation sets the tone for the event. Also sprinkled throughout the décor is a collection of hops, some verdant, some dried, but an interesting and unique inclusion.
The bride displays a wild bouquet full of white flowers and greenery. Because of the organic and neutral tones presented by the venue, the white flowers offer a certain brightness.
From stacks of parchment to unique fountain pens, elements of the groom’s craft are seen throughout the shoot, as well – a beautiful idea to capture someone’s life’s work.
Because of her nature, the bride wears her curly hair down and free-flowing. She is styled in a billowy long-sleeve dress and wears a statement necklace.
The groom wears a light khaki-colored suit, open-collar white shirt, and a petite boutonniere made with stephanotis, a rose, and greenery.
Their passion is mesmerizing as they share a kiss.
The tablescape features a blush pink runner, gold flatware, white china, and vintage crystal stemware.
A bright and beautiful pair, these two embrace each other and the warm California sun for a romantic and sweet photo.
Their styles echo the warm tones of the venue and the gentility of the grounds. As they explore the property, they pause on the steps of the hacienda, and exchange gentle kisses and glances.
We’re sure this styled shoot could provide any romantic writer a generous amount of material from which to work. A handsome groom and a darling lady make us weak at the knees, capturing our hearts with a love story chiseled straight from the stone at Holman’s Ranch.
