La Venta Inn CA wedding. Cecilia and Ivan had a timeless and intimate wedding at the La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes, California; however, Ivan's proposal was over-the-top and in-the-moment . Since Cecilia loves Instagram, Ivan dropped photo hints that led her to a beautifully decorated hotel room. Ivan entered playing the ukulele and singing Train’s hit “Marry Me.” After dropping to one knee and Cecilia accepting Ivan’s proposal, the two found themselves at the altar seven months later. It was a beautiful day with a clear sky. Cecilia wore a lace strapless fit-and-flare gown with a long veil clipped in her intricate updo. Four bridesmaids wore floor-length blush gowns. While the bridesmaids carried bouquets of soft pastel-colored roses, Cecilia snuck in a few fuchsia peonies.
Ivan looked debonair in a navy suit and vest, white shirt, and black bowtie. His groomsmen wore handsome gray three-piece suits with long black ties.
Flowers were a central and abundant detail throughout the day. The venue was lush with gardens all around the ceremony space. Cecilia and Ivan were wed under a fabric-draped arbor with flower arrangements on the sides and across the top. Instead of the traditional symbol of unity with sand, the two joined salt and pepper together to show their love of cooking and preferences for salty and spicy foods. After reciting their personalized vows overlooking the ocean, they sealed their promises with a kiss.
Cecilia was surprised by the groomsmen with a rendition of "Your Song" from Moulin Rouge - with her husband joining in at the very end. At the end of the evening, guests cooled off from the hot summer night with a pop-up ice cream bar.
