Merrimon Wynne House Raleigh Wedding

When Bobby and Ally tied the knot in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the Merrimon Wynne House, it was everything that she had ever dreamed. Ally was not your typical bride. Most brides get overwhelmed by all of the details and all of the planning that goes into a wedding. While she wanted the beauty and splendor of a wedding, she was not fixated on that aspect. She wanted God’s presence to be evident.

During the engagement, she and Bobby prayed that God would be the center of not only their wedding day but their marriage. On their honeymoon, as they reminisced about their wedding day, they realized that their prayers had been answered.

There were many ways that they wove their faith into their wedding day. The setting itself helped to set the tone. They got married at the Merrimon-Wynne House. It is a majestic building that was constructed in 1876. It gave their nuptials a classic yet elegant feel. They exchanged their vows outdoors. Their décor included doors which had the message, “We love because he first loved us.“

But as they look back on that day, the actual ceremony stands out for them. While the setting was very classic, they added a modern element that helped them to display their faith. They wrote their own vows. This allowed them to share their love for each other as well as their mutual love for God. It was such a wonderful component to their big day.

Ally’s gown was a sleeveless dress with a train. Her hair cascaded over her shoulders and she wore a veil.

Bobby and his groomsmen wore tuxedos. But Bobby’s mom made the bowties and pocket squares. How special is that?

Their love affair started as a part of a school project. Ally was a Technical Photography major and Bobby was a triathlete. He was the subject of one of her assignments. After she was finished, he told that he liked her. This was the beginning. They could never have imagined that the result would be finding a partner for life.
