Ocean City New Jersey Real Wedding
Ocean City New Jersey real wedding. Traditional wedding vows have couples promise till death do us part but for New Jersey couple, Stephen and Katie, it rang all too true even before their walk down the aisle. Two months before their Ocean City wedding, Katie was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor and had to undergo emergency surgery to remove it. Stephen was with her every step of the way, further proving she was marrying someone who epitomized true love. And their wedding day was every bit as special as you can imagine. Katie and Stephen's Ocean City, New Jersey, wedding was as personalized as it gets. The couple wanted everyone they loved to be a part of their special day and many were intimately involved with the details.
Katie is a youth minister at the Parish of St. Damien so there was no question that was where their special ceremony would take place. Katie dressed in a strapless ball gown with a stunning beaded bodice and dreamy tulle skirt.
Her hair was curled and hung at her shoulders as she accessorized with a beautiful veil and stunning embellished heels.
Katie walked down the aisle to Stephen who handsomely wore a classic black tuxedo and white bowtie.
To her left were her bridesmaids, all wearing strapless blush-colored gowns and pretty beaded headbands. Katie's grandmother, Beverly, and her older sister both served as Matrons of Honor.
The ceremony included songs from the bride's friend who is a singer/songwriter in New York. One of the members of Katie's church youth group created all of the flowers for the wedding, as well.
After a traditional ceremony, Katie and Stephen celebrated their union with a kiss and left the church in a rousing celebration. They wore the biggest smiles as they headed off to take photos.
The reception took place at the Ocean City Yacht Club, so the couple aptly took advantage of the surroundings. The bridal party took photos outside in the clear blue sky overlooking the bay.
The couple grabbed hands and trekked through the sand, laughing and hugging as they walked.
The reception featured a lot of DIY touches as Katie enjoys event planning.
Pink and gold decor splashed the tables, including the place cards; however, the reception venue was so stunning on its own that extra outside decoration wasn't necessary.
Each reception table featured baby photos of the bride and groom, as well as blush linens and small flower arrangements.
The sweetheart table was just that - sweet. It featured a pair of chairs with a blush table linen and a petite arrangement of pink flowers. The table sat right in front of a large window, perfect for a scenic view.
Friends and family provided all the sweets for the wedding. Their cake was a gorgeous one-tier creation with tiny pearl details around the base and small flowers anchoring a bedazzled W. The cake stand was surrounded by an assortment of cupcakes in all flavors.
The blue and white room was the perfect frame for this lovely couple as they enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife. They celebrated with family and friends throughout the evening and enjoyed a gorgeous sunset on the water.
This Ocean City wedding was perfect in so many ways. Almost every element was touched with love and this bride and groom couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. It truly was a celebration of love and life. Congratulations, Katie and Stephen!
