River Highlands Ranch and Vineyard Wedding
Vineyard California Wedding. Rustic weddings have a special way of combining the relaxed charm and tranquility of the outdoors with the delicacy and elegance of matrimony. With this vision in mind, Sommer and Mike chose River Highlands Ranch and Vineyard in Smartsville, California, as the perfect backdrop for their special occasion on June 22, 2013.
Sommer was the picture of classic bridal beauty donning a lace A-line gown complete with a sweetheart neckline. A unique touch to her bridal look was a fitted leather belt with a feminine buckle, a seamless way to tie in the feel of the day while still maintaining a bridal aura. With a simple flower adornment in her hair and teardrop earrings, her look was complete. Sommer's bridesmaids looked comfortable and sweet as they all wore different dresses in a neutral palate to best complement their own personal styles.
The groom kept his look modest, yet appropriate for the day with blue jeans and a gray button-down shirt. His groomsmen were dressed similarly and their smiles seemed to shine brighter than their belt buckles. And the ensemble wouldn't be complete without proper footwear. Boots were made for walking down the aisle for Sommer, Mike and their bridal party.
With rows of grapevines in the distance and nature serving as the ultimate backdrop, the ceremony was held on the grounds outside in front of friends and family. Flanked on both sides of Sommer and Mike were weathered wine barrels topped with pale pink and white flower arrangements, which mirrored the bouquets of the bride and bridesmaids. These additions provided a rural and soft frame for the most intimate details of the ceremony. After their first kiss as husband and wife, Sommer and Mike were off to their reception in the Vineyard Barn.
It's no wonder the Vineyard Barn is a popular event space, emitting homespun charm with its whitewashed exterior and ivy-framed entrance. For their reception, Sommer and Mike chose long tables, center-lined with candles, burlap and white accents, which transformed the space into a rustic dream. Incorporating the gentle, flowing décor into the barn left guests feeling cozy, ready to relax and enjoy the celebration.
Sommer and Mike's wedding was a timeless homage to who they are and their love for one another, while still incorporating the traditions they adore about uniting in marriage.
