Southern Wedding in Beaufort NC
Southern Wedding in Beaufort NC. Blair and Michael planned a truly Southern wedding in Beaufort, North Carolina, and it showed in every last detail. From the personalized monograms to the pastel-filled color palette, this day was as charming and lively as the town of Beaufort, itself.
This was a destination wedding for Blair and Michael, whose parents both own homes nearby. So when they created their invitation suite and accompanying paper elements, they included adorable hand-drawn directions, a colorful sea-inspired monogram, and a traditional invitation and program.
Blair looked every bit a classic Southern bride on her wedding day. She chose an off-the-shoulder long- sleeve lace gown with a fit-and-flare silhouette.
Statement earrings, a long veil, and peep toe heels completed her bridal look.
No unsavory bridesmaid fashion here! Her bridesmaids were the epitome of grace and elegance in their long blush pink dresses, which featured chiffon sleeveless tops and beaded skirts. Pearl necklaces and dainty bouquets completed their attire.
Michael wore a unique accessory on his wedding day. Aside from his crisp white tuxedo jacket and black tuxedo pants, he chose a feather bow tie made with actual pheasant feathers.
Outside the church, Michael gathered with his handsome group of groomsmen, all matching in white jackets and black pants, before the start of the ceremony.
Michael was given a small sentimental gift from his bride, before he joined hands with her prior to the ceremony.
Inside the beautiful church, Blair was escorted down the aisle to her handsome groom. With all eyes upon them, the two said “I do” and were all smiles as they exited the church, hand-in-hand.
To say that Beaufort has a number of picture-perfect places to take photos is an understatement. This waterfront town is not short on picturesque corners, so Michael and Blair made their way down a dock that captured the town's natural splendor.
You can’t have a Beaufort wedding without spotting one of its famous trolley cars!
The reception took place at the Beaufort Historic Site.
The bridal party took photos on the steps of the whitewashed building before the couple took a few of their own.
The reception greeted guests with a double-door opening decorated with wreaths and a personalized sign.
A huge white tent beckoned everyone underneath and guests were pleasantly surprised by the fun facts the couple provided about those in attendance. An original and fun idea, indeed!
In the center of the tent hung a large floral centerpiece filled with lush greenery and white flowers. It offered a refreshing punch of color to the white tent fabric.
Reception tables were dressed with lovely white patterned linens and vibrant floral centerpieces.
The couple had a memorial table created for their beloved family members, as well.
The wedding cake was a darling representation of the couple and their wedding destination. The white fondant-covered creation featured three tiers, each decorated with bands of pearls and was topped with two nautical flags.
On the checkered dancefloor, Blair and Michael took their first spin as husband and wife. Blair couldn’t contain her laughter as she enjoyed every second with her new husband.
The party went well into the night, with guests descending upon the dance floor to party with the new Mr. and Mrs.
At the end of the evening, Blair changed into a more comfortable short lace dress and gave her groom one last kiss in front of their double door display before heading on their new journey together.
This Southern wedding was all about fashion, faith, and fun. The couple infused their personalities with the sweet gentility of this coastal town to create a memorable destination wedding experience enjoyed by all.
