Sunset Terrace NY Wedding Show
On the Sunset Terrace at Chelsea Piers in New York City, the Big Fake Wedding hosted brides and those who love them for its unique wedding show alternative. With a theme that appeals to crafters and DIYers alike, this event promised lots of color, lots of creativity, and lots of fun. A bright and flashy color palette is what set this show apart. Turquoise, purple, yellow, and fuchsia helped to round out the experience in a myriad of hues.
The floral designers included blooms of all shapes, sizes, and textures. Orchids, peonies, hibiscus, ranunculus, and so much more were brought together for a colorful display.
The bride’s style was simple and elegant. She wore a strapless sweetheart gown with a beaded belt at the waist. Her headpiece truly captured the “handstitched” feel with its unique design. She also accessorized with a wrap around her shoulders.
How fun are these bridesmaids’ dresses? Short, flirty frocks of fuschia were just the right style for this event.
The groom and groomsmen kept their looks classic with black suits and white and black ties, respectively. However, the boutonnieres did provide a small pop of color on their otherwise traditional looks.
As this couple got ready for their vow renewal, they had a first look moment before the ceremony. With the awe-inducing scene behind them, the couple revealed themselves and shared in the excitement.
Inside the venue was a quaint and unique display of décor. Each round reception table boasted a different theme with a spectrum of color for an incredible array of decorative possibilities.

Hanging flower pots and hanging vintage keys were just some of the ideas floating around the room.
For a sweet alternative, the attendees enjoyed a generous donut bar, complete with all kinds of delectable fried dough treats displayed in a most colorful way.
The couple were wed inside with the pier and water set as the picturesque backdrop to their ceremony. Underneath the arbor, the two said “I do” again in front of excited and hopeful couples-to-be.
Aerial artists graced the ceiling with their graceful choreography, showing that your reception can be entertaining, too!
The couple enjoyed their first dance as guests mingled and sampled the vendors' offerings about the room.
When the event was coming to a beautiful end, the couple made their exit carrying charming umbrellas.
The Big Fake Wedding New York takes crafting and turns the practice into a fun and funky wedding theme. Bold colors, fun shapes, and an amazing venue were the only supplies needed to dream up this fantastic day. Remember - the only limitation is your own imagination.
