The Big Fake Wedding Raleigh
The Big Fake Wedding is a bridal show alternative making its way around the country to inspire brides from all over, and its latest stop was at 215 Martin Street in Raleigh, North Carolina. Five floral and event designers put together a Farmhouse Fete, perfect for the Southern, nostalgia-loving, rustic romantics looking for ideas to plan their upcoming weddings. Attendees were delighted to see fresh ideas from vendors that were casual, laidback, and cozy. The venue offers the perfect farmhouse feel right in the heart of Raleigh.
Designers fashioned the ceremony spot around a wooden wall in the venue. The aisle was assembled with colorful bottles and vases lit up with candles, along with two large barrels.
The bride wore a show-stopping dress that everyone couldn’t stop talking about. The modern high neckline with cap sleeves and sleek silhouette was swoon-worthy. She completed the look with a low updo pulled to the side and statement earrings.
Long tables served dual purposes for ceremony and reception seating and were all decorated differently to show off the possibilities one theme can present. They included various linens or natural stains, along with different combinations of dishware and napkins.
An assortment of flowers that truly spanned the color spectrum filled the room with bright hues and endless texture.
The real-life husband and wife at the Big Fake Wedding participate in a vow renewal so attendees can feel the emotion and see how a wedding would play out, both at the venue and with the participating vendors.
Before the ceremony, the couple and their bridal party took photos outside. The bridesmaids wore modern light brown long-sleeve dresses and for a pop of color, all the ladies carried bouquets with lilies, berries, and greenery.
The groom and his groomsmen kept their looks simple and perfect for the theme – white button-down shirts, navy pants, and suspenders.
And the giant acorn isn’t a quirky piece of décor – the city of Raleigh drops the acorn on New Year’s Eve, honoring its “City of Oaks” title.
The vow renewal was sweet and sentimental and an honor for everyone to witness.
One of the cakes at the event was this perfectly simple white three-tier cake. The bottom two layers have a natural texture while the top is a naked tier. The design is adorned with a handmade floral wreath.
The couple danced the night away as attendees sampled various treats from vendors and learned more about what they have to offer for upcoming weddings.
Weddings don’t have to be fussy or fancy to be fabulous. The Big Fake Wedding Raleigh chose a Farmhouse Fete to show just how amazing a wedding can be when you bring the country to the city.
