Claxton Farms Asheville North Carolina Real Wedding
It is so amazing that simply selecting the right color and accessories can totally transform how you feel about an ensemble. When Michael and Jenn tied the knot at Claxton Farms in Asheville, North Carolina, you would have thought you were in a European countryside. Maybe Ireland, maybe Scotland but certainly not in North Carolina. The style of the wedding gown as well as the color the suit, helped carry you to another continent.
Even the selection of the flowers for the bouquet and boutonniere was on point. There is always the tendency to want vibrant bright colors. Instead they chose earth tones and natural accents which created a cornucopia look. What a perfect choice for a wedding at a farm?

Let's look at her gown more closely. It is what we would call simple yet elegant. It is definitely so perfect for the venue. Her dress is strapless and made of lace. The material is what helps you feel that it fits so well in the surroundings because it is more characteristic of another country. The bow in the center is just the best accent and takes the style over the top. She selected simple jewelry as accessories. She wore hanging pearl earrings and a pearl bracelet. She looked amazing. The groom wore a tan suit with blue tie. It was so relaxed but it looked dressy. It may have the been how the colors blended in the green grass and the color of the tie reflected off the blue of the sky. They were a stunning couple.
Obviously even though they are the stars of the day, there was so much more to their wedding. Why don't we talk for a moment about the venue? It is full of history and has its own story. It is the result of the hard work and vision of its owners, Porter and Martha Ann Claxton. When the couple purchased the property in 1976, it was in ruins. It only consisted of 60 acres with a cabin, milking parlor, spring house and out house. It definitely was in need of some TLC. They built a log cabin, clear the field to create pastures and purchased a commercial herd of cattle. Over the years, they have added numerous other animals such as sheep, goats and pigs even llamas. They also acquired additional land and now boast more than 500 acres. Their farm hosts a variety of events such as weddings, birthday parties and even school tours. It definitely allows you to make your dreams come true with a setting as idyllic and culturally rich as this.
Michael and Jenn definitely used the influence of the farm when planning the details of their nuptials. They had bottles of jam, the centerpieces resembled the bouquets and they roasted marshmallows over a bonfire. However, inside the tables were elegantly decorated. It was nice blend of the surroundings.
Outdoors or indoors. You can have an amazing wedding if you use the elements around you and plan around them. The theme will flow easily and it will not be forced. If the setting is naturally beautiful like this farm, then use it. Just adding simple things can make all of the difference so that you can take your special day over the top and create lasting memories. Isn't that what you want for YOUR wedding?
