Pink St Charles Illinois Real Wedding
They say that diamonds are a girl's best friend. When Samone got married James in St. Charles, Illinois, she took this saying literally. She had diamond accents on her dress, shoes, her earrings, her bracelet and even the centerpieces and napkin holders at her reception. She knew that you were at an affair that was carefully planned from beginning to end. Let's look at the bridal ensemble. Samone did not consider herself a traditional bride. Her strapless gown was breathtaking. It had diamond applique on the bodice and also where it gathered on the bottom. It gave a modern twist to a classic design. She did not wear a necklace which would have probably taken away from the intricacies of the dress. She pulled some of her hair back and had a flower in the back. Her long hair flowed over her shoulders. The simplicity of her hair also allowed her gown to shine more. Of course, she did not wear white shoes. She wore beautiful blue shoes and the color blended in well with the flowers in her bouquet. She was a big fan of the show, "Say Yes to the Dress". She traveled to New York so that she could get the perfect gown. Looking at her choice, it was worth the trip. She was just stunning and the dress was definitely amazing.
The groom and his groomsmen looked sharp also. They were not to be outdone. They wore white tuxedos with lavender boutonnieres, which matched the colors in the bride's bouquet.
The bridesmaids wore gowns that were the same color as the flowers. As a twist, they wore white shoes instead of the bride. The flower girls at this affair were not just cute. They looked like "mini" bides in their white dresses with big bows. The entire bridal party was just stunning.
The venue was just as magnificent. The Hotel Baker was built in 1928 and financed by "Colonel" Edward Baker. He was a native of St. Charles and the resort was his vision. Many stars such as Louis Armstrong, Tommy Dorsey and Guy Lombardo have visited the Rainbow Room. The hotel was recently restored and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Samone's mother, knowing that Samone was not a traditional bride, had always told her about the hotel and suggested that she get married there. Once she got engaged and saw the place, she fell in love with the splendor as well. She agreed and her venue choice was made. Unfortunately for most brides, selecting a venue is a long arduous process. Thanks in part to her mom, Samone did not have to do too much research to decide on the location for her nuptials. Not only does The Hotel Baker provide an stunning interior but the exterior is just as amazing. There is a rose garden and a river surrounded by flowers. Since she wanted to exchange her vows outdoors, it was perfect.
It was an outdoor ceremony. Just what Samone wanted. She exchanged her vows under a draped canopy and of course, diamonds were not far away. There was a wonderful chandelier hanging from the center and flowers on each side.
The diamond theme continued into the reception as the centerpieces had diamond dangling from the flowers. It just magnificent and matched the splendor of the venue. The chairs were covered in satin cloth which made them look too beautiful to sit on. The cake was traditional yet modern. It was a white multiple layers but the colored flowers on the side were definitely a modern twist.
Samone also added touches to remind you of the historic nature of the venue. She had hand fans made that gave little biographies of the bridal party and then another one about the bride and groom. It is a take back in time when we did not have the luxury of central air conditioning and definitely a necessary accessory for her guests while they watched her exchange her vows outdoors.
If you want the wedding of your dreams, it will take careful planning. Each detail is important and adds to the splendor of your day. This is your special day so carefully consider how you want the ceremony and reception. Both of these items will govern the ultimate choice of your venue. Being able to get married and have the reception at the same place is definitely ideal. Don't take anything for granted and your wedding will be an event that you will always cherish.
