Lasalle Illinois Real Wedding
It is not unusual to see a lot a symmetry at a wedding. The bridesmaids look the same, the groomsmen look similar, each table at the reception is decorate alike, well you get the idea. When Bobby and Tory got married in LaSalle, Illinois, they followed the norm but added a twist. It really gave their nuptials a unique flavor.
First let's look at the bridal party. The bridesmaids wore light gray short dresses but they were not all the same. Some were strapless and others were not. The bride was the only one that stood out and really that's the way it should be. Her dress just took our breath away. She looked like a princess. It was so stunning. The dress was strapless with lace overlay. She wore hanging pearl earrings with a pearl bracelet. Classic jewelry choices that worked well with her gown. It was a modern twist to a traditional inspired design. It was beautiful. But her ensemble did not stop there. The shoes were so unusual. They were heels with a bow of cloth in front that she tied. How sheik? How different? Also, they were not white. The color mimicked the color of ties of the groomsmen. As we said earlier, the wedding had things that were similar just any like any other nuptials but with a unique twist.
The groomsmen wore darker gray suits. Usually the groomsmen match the groom almost exactly. Not with this wedding. The groom wore a black suit. Also, the groom wore a bow tie while the rest of the men wore champagne colored ties. It was nice mix. It truly made the bridal party looked very unique.
They had a table with name tags with a tree to hang them on. They wanted the guests to write comments on the cards and hang them on the tree. Usually, the videographer walks around and interviews you asking you to say something to the bride and groom. This does the same thing without putting you on the spot to speak into the camera. Once again, it was a nice twist to another wedding tradition.
They carried this into the reception as well. Normally, when you enter the reception area, the tables all look the same. The same centerpiece, the same decor, the same place setting. Bobby and Tory had a twist here as well. Each centerpiece had a different type of flowers. They all looked different. Also, each person received a card in their glass. It told them that they would have a sing a song that included the word, "Love" in order to get the newlyweds to kiss. Now, we have all been to weddings were all evening you hear the ping of the glasses resonate as the guests encourage the couple to kiss. Not at this wedding. If you wanted them to kiss, you had to risk embarrassment by singing. This was a fun twist to a wedding tradition.
The cake was also different yet similar. It was not white. The color mimicked the ties of the groomsmen. The cake was four layers and the presentation was amazing. They had flower petals all around it with lit candles. It had ribbons around the layers with one jeweled accent. It was
Weddings can follow the norm but still be unique. Bobby and Tory had traditional elements but their wedding was different not like all the rest. This is your day and it should be special. Take the time to plan and decide what you want. Don't be afraid to deviate from tradition. Who says that everything has to be done a certain way? Make your nuptials special by putting your signature twist on it. You will not be disappointed with the results.
