San Ysidro Ranch Bridal Portraits
San Ysidro Ranch Bridal Portraits. When you’re an event planner, your mind constantly churns with new ideas and for Katie Kalafat, owner of First Comes Love Events, her own bridal shoot at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California, was the perfect chance to bring them to life.
This entire shoot was earthy, dreamy, and resplendent. The English gardens and lavender fields were as tranquil and pleasant as one could imagine. With a warm and gentle sun peeking out from over the trees, this was certain to be a beautiful experience.
Channeling the airy environment, Katie chose a backless floral-inspired gown with thin straps and a fluttery skirt.
Her hair was pulled off to one side and keeping to her own personal whims, she strolled the property barefoot.
For another look, she draped a traditional veil over her head and face. She topped it with a gold tiara for a touch of metallic sparkle.
The one statement she wanted to express to her groom over any other on their big day was “I choose you.” That all-important sentiment was scribed on a card and photographed for this very special reason.
Wearing a dress with movement, she playfully ran through the garden and walked down the steps with ease.
She clutched a simple but fragrant bouquet full of lavender, tied with a simple satin ribbon.
Katie pulled her hair into a low updo and her picturesque silhouette was on full display in the garden, showing off the front and back detail of her gown.
Her makeup was natural. Her accessories were few. But it was the simplicity of the perfectly-timed sunshine overlooking the lavender field that solidified the shoot.
If you can schedule a bridal shoot before your big day, it’s an experience you won’t regret. Katie was not only photographed in her choice gown but was also afforded the opportunity to experiment with various looks to figure out exactly what she wanted for her big day - in the most memorable way possible.
